Rooby-Doo Canine Academy specializes in addressing behavioral issues such as dog aggression, human aggression, reactivity, fear-based aggression, resource guarding, separation anxiety, phobias, lunging, barking, biting, and most anything effecting a harmonious life with you and your dog. We believe in finding the underlying cause and trigger for each specific issue, not just treating the symptom. We then work to change the emotional response and overall state of the dog towards the trigger.

Behavior Modification

Behavior modification is a systematic approach to changing a behavior. We will take a deep dive into finding the cause of your dog's unwanted behavior. Our goal is to change the reaction your dog has towards the trigger, changing its mindset and attitude in the process. We do not believe in putting band-aids on serious behavioral problems, which could lead to more issues. This is a long-term training solution, helping you to understand the emotional state of your dog, changing its perception and building the tools you both need to work through the specific issues at hand. Rehabilitation takes time and much patience and understanding is needed.


An evaluation is mandatory before beginning behavior modification.

Evaluation Process

An evaluation is mandatory for all incoming clients seeking behavior modification services.


Once you arrive, we will start by observing your dog in the new environment as well as observing how you and your dog interact. We will then start the testing. Typically there will be a series of five or more tests we perform with your dog. You will be present the entire time and involved in some of the testing too. Once the testing is done we will sit down and explain the results and our assessment of your dog to you. We will then discuss a targeted training plan to meet your goals.

The evaluation and consultation is a 90 minute - 2 hour process.

To reschedule or cancel a session, we require a minimum 24-hour notice. Please note that a cancellation notice given less than 24 hours in advance or a no-show on your scheduled day will result in the forfeiture of that lesson, and the full amount will be charged. Exceptions can be made for unforeseen emergencies.
