Florenza Pizanis
Owner & Head Trainer
Florenza Pizanis specializes in all types of behavioral issues, particularly in reactivity and aggression. Florenza was led on this path after having spent years rehabilitating a dog she rescued with severe aggression issues. As a pet dog trainer she was not equipped to handle such aggression. Not finding anyone in the Central Valley area to help her, she began her journey to seek and train with experts in the field. This led her to working full-time at a facility in Los Angeles, where she gained thousands of hours of hands-on experience, working with hundreds of dogs of all breeds, shapes, and sizes with a diverse range of behavioral challenges. With this knowledge and experience Florenza had gained, she was even more determined and dedicated to helping dogs and their owners in the Central Valley area, offering behavioral training to those who needed it. She then went on to establish her company, Rooby-Doo Canine Academy in 2018.
Apart from helping dogs and their owners with behavioral issues, Florenza loves all the aspects of training that her company offers, from basic obedience through high level competition obedience, trick/stunt dog, scent work, engagement and many other types and styles of dog training, sports and activities. Also having a passion for canine nutrition, she has not only completed educational courses from specialists in the field but continues to further her knowledge to help build optimal bodies and health in our canine companions.
Florenza has competed in multiple dog sports up to national level, among them being IGP (Internationale Gebrauchshund Prüfungsordnung), Flyball, Dock Diving, Nosework and Stunt Dog. She has participated in numerous workshops, seminars, training sessions and certification programs, refining her skills and expanding her knowledge and understanding of different dog behaviors and training methods. Through this hands-on experience, she has successfully rehabilitated dogs with diverse behavioral issues, ranging from mild reactivity to severe aggression, enabling her to develop effective strategies tailored to individual dogs' needs. Additionally, she has actively engaged in continuous education and collaboration with fellow experts in the field, staying updated with the latest advancements in canine behavior and training techniques.
Notably, she has titled her personal rescue dog to an IGP3 twice, showcasing the culmination of her training methods and dedication to achieving high-level obedience and performance.

Busta Rooby-Doo
Dog Training Assistant
Busta Rooby-Doo, aka Busta, is the face of Rooby-Doo Canine Academy. He is also the reason Florenza specializes in behavioral issues. Busta had a hard beginning to his life. He was found with a shattered spine, emaciated, flea infested and cuts all over his legs and face. He has come such a long way through years of rehabilitation and intense training and prides himself in the progress he has made. Having retired from competitive dog sports, he can dedicate himself full-time as Florenza's assistant, helping her train client dogs with their reactivity and aggression issues in a safe and controlled environment. He also works with the owners for them to practice their skills before teaching it to their own dog. Busta understands mistakes will be made when learning a new skill and is always eager and willing to help out. He is always on standby, waiting for his cue to Rooby-DOO it!

She came and stayed with us for a week this summer and wow what a difference! My niece was able to follow my obedience commands with Ares and he listened!
